Coordinate the individual peer-tutoring activities for TRIO Student Support Services. Individual will assist in the hiring and training of undergraduate and graduate peer tutoring staff. Anticipated start date August 1, 2017.
This is a grant funded, 10 month, part-time position not to exceed 24 hours per week. Typically working August 1 to May 31. Limited benefits package available which includes retirement, workers compensation, unemployment coverage and Medicare. However no insurance benefits are available.
Essential Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities
Supervises the tutor recruitment activities (Campus Updates; department contact, etc., interview and hire and performs other administrative duties as needed).
Ensures there are sufficient numbers of tutors in various subject areas to meet demands of program participants.
Supervises the tutor-pairing activities of Graduate Assistant and all activities and updates related to the tutor database.
Oversees the professional development of tutoring staff, schedules trainings and modules in TRIO Peer Tutor Canvas Shell.
Contributes to the proper assessment of tutoring program in Campus Labs.
Posts position opening into Student Employment portal as needed.
Acts as liaison between tutoring staff and SSS full-time staff and leadership.
Supervise and coach peer tutoring team in person and on-line.
Assist secretary in the proper hiring and pay of tutoring staff.

Bachelor's Degree required. Preferably in Education, Social and Behavioral Sciences or Business degree related to training. Also required one to two years training or teaching experience, at least one year as tutor coordinator or supervising tutors or instructors.
