Posting Summary: The McGuffey Reading Center in the Curry School of Education seeks reading tutors to provide one-on-one and group tutoring experience for early childhood and school age children. Tutors interpret assessment results and design intervention plans/lessons that are scheduled to fit the parameters of the reading program/timeframe.
This is a $20.00 per hour, limited term wage assignment, with no benefits.
A Bachelor's degree is required as is classroom practicum and/or internship experience in reading/literacy. A Master's Degree and a VA endorsement (or provisional endorsement) as a reading specialist are preferred.
Candidates must have the ability to work effectively with children and their families and to appropriately assess reading skills and design beneficial reading instructions plans. The ability to create written reports documenting intervention outcomes using word processing software is also required.
