Summary of Position: The Research Foundation for SUNY's Migrant Education Tutorial Support Services Program (METS) has an immediate opening for a full-time tutor (37.5 hours per week) to provide service in Syracuse, NY.
Major Responsibilities: Provide day-time and evening, in-home and in-school, ESL and tutoring in Syracuse.
Required Qualifications: -High School diploma or GED; -Ability to transfer knowledge and skill concepts to children and young adults; ability to work and relate well with children through the age of 21 and their parents/families; -Ability to be flexible, often changing tasks or balancing a number of tasks concurrently; -Strong attention to detail; -Ability to plan work and utilize creativity in presenting materials to students; -Basic computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Word and emailing functions; -Ability to work independently and within a team environment; -Effective interpersonal skills -A vehicle and a valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications: -Bachelor's degree; -Background in education; -Ability to speak or read Spanish
