Camp counselors provide direct service to children with and without disabilities. Each camp counselor works with a team of 5-7 counselors and 1 Activities Coordinator and 1 Site Supervisor in Gateway SRA summer day camp. Camp counselors report directly to the Activities Coordinator and Site Supervisor. Gateway SRA summer day camp is an 8 week program, Monday through Friday from 9:15am- 3:45pm. The camp counselors maintain a safe and stimulating environment for campers the entire summer. Counselors are to focus on the needs of the campers daily with guidance from assigned the Activities Coordinator and Site Supervisor.
High School Diploma/GED required. 1-2years of job related experience preferred. Sitting or prolonged standing, excellent written and oral communication skills, work autonomously and productively, problem solver, team member and sound judgment. Lifting 75 pounds, working with arms over the shoulder, climbing kneeling bending pushing/pulling, carrying 50 pounds, walking 1mile, read and understand written information. Must be 17 or older.
